Cheshire East Council have a large Children’s Services department; they support many children in the region who are at risk in their home environment. These children will either be fostered, adopted or moved into residential care depending on several factors.
As a leading creative design agency based in Manchester, Forever Creative were asked to help. Cheshire East Council needed to produce a printed pack including a guide to coming into care, a self-completion review booklet and other informative material. Children will be given the booklet pack when they first come into care.
The printed pack needed to clearly inform young people of what will happen to them, reassure young people that they are supported and will be cared for while providing information and guidance to help the young people adjust.
The style of the pack was required to be both interesting and appropriate for children of all ages. We produced a colourful and illustrative style that would grab the attention of the younger audience, but also allow us to add enough fine detail making it suitable to the older audiences.
We produced two different versions of the ‘Coming into Care Guide’ booklets and 3 different versions of the self-completion review booklet. Each was specifically tailored for the age range by using different graphical elements, colour schemes and content.
