Louvolite are manufacturers of window blind fabrics and components. They have traditionally been a trade supplier – selling via a network of retailers as opposed to direct to the public. However as the window blind industry becomes increasingly based online – they realized that it was important for them to have a more direct route to market. The existing website was very trade orientated and had little appeal for consumers so they approached us to develop a new website with a consumer audience in mind.

Research has shown that customers requesting a fabric swatch have a high propensity to go on to place an order. A key feature of the new site was therefore the ability to view and order fabric swatches online. This also enabled Louvolite to start to capture consumers details for direct marketing activities.

Whilst the consumer market was important, Louvolite didn’t want to alienate their trade suppliers and they also wanted to appeal to commercial customers. We there fore designed a parallel site aimed at specifiers/architects from the commercial sector and a password protected area dedicated to blindmakers. The results from the new site in the first few months following the launch were dramatic. Visitor traffic increased by 47%, page views increased by 202% with a corresponding drop in bounce rate of -45% and the average time spent on the website increased by 70%.
