Hello, my name is James Sanders and I am currently in my second year studying a foundation degree course in Graphic Design at Wigan and Leigh College. When I found out I would need to take part in a placement I spoke with a friend about some of the best businesses offering them and she suggested Forever Creative as the perfect place to gain some valuable experience. After I got in contact, I was delighted when Greg, the Senior Designer, offered me a week’s placement in January which was a perfect start to my year off, as once I complete my foundation course I’ll be entering my final year of study at Salford University in September.

I had some initial worries about working in an agency, as I’m only in my second year of studying and have never been in a creative working environment but I was welcomed into the studio by Greg and the rest of the creative team with open arms.

I was lucky enough to get real hands on experience by working on creating a brand for a Real Ale company, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This also gave me a chance to try my hand at illustration. I was also given the opportunity to work on an active brief for one of their clients. This was certainly valuable experience to know how the industry works and how to convert a brief into a finished product.

Greg and Rick were very helpful in advising me how best to conduct myself in a creative environment and be industry ready. I have given some valuable feedback on my own blog. (http://james-sanders.tumblr.com/)

Overall, I immensely enjoyed my week working at Forever Creative. I would like to thank everyone for making me feel extremely welcome and giving me true hands on experience of working within the industry.

Thank you Forever!
